Islams belief in placing blame

One of the most important battles in the War on Terror is an intellectual one: it is the notion that radical Islam is caused by tyrannical US foreign policy or American arrogance. Like a psy-ops campaign, this mythology strips us of our will to fight, or more specifically, an acknowledgment that we need to. We play into the hands of our enemies, all the while, they march closer.

America's fault? Never mind our policy of appeasement toward Islamo terrorism that dates back 30 years. The US has endured dozens of attacks both here and abroad, offering near-ZERO response.

Ignore the fact that the US has poured billions of dollars into Muslim nations for decades. America's charity dollars given to the tsunami victims of Indonesia do nothing to dissuade Muslim hatred. Our money has even reached the coffers of Hamas and the Palestinian Authority. The United States has also extended military aid to Muslims around the world, including the Balkans, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia.

In fact, the Saudi government made a formal request for US protection against Saddam Huessein. Our response to the region disgraced and enraged Osama Bin Laden. Passed over in lieu of Western aid, Bin Laden was denied an opportunity for power and prestige. He then made an enemy of America. Ironically, jihad was declared—not because we invaded Muslim nations and murdered their children—but because we came to help them in their hour of need.

And why does the Left chant the blame America mantra with the same zeal as our enemies? Self-loathing Americans exploit terrorism to vent personal issues with their homeland. Professor Ward Churchill routinely defends the 9/11 attacks by jabbering about capitalism, slavery and the conquest of Native Americans (aspects of American heritage that outrage him). Did Mohammad Atta act on behalf of the Indians, or perhaps the Palestinians…even though he was neither?

It is most alarming when our own elected officials show hatred for the US. Leaders who blame America for terrorism will inevitably be negligent in their tactics to fight it. This is why liberal Democrats routinely oppose any action against our enemies. The Left believes that America is the problem, and the military/CIA are tentacles of the aggressor. Therefore, by imposing regulation, obstruction, and cutbacks upon these instruments of harassment, we will reduce terrorist attacks against us. When such fools are tasked with leading the country they so despise, the effect is disastrous.

Delusions and ignorance drive hapless millions (both here and abroad) into the congregations of anti-Americanism. Just because they believe it--just because they are passionate and dedicated--does not mean that their beliefs have merit. For all too long, radical Muslims have preached hate toward the West, never pausing to examine their own derelict culture. Fundamentalist Islam amounts to intolerance, conquest, oppression, murder, and a human rights holocaust. Until they look in the mirror, they will never evolve. And until Americans start placing blame where it belongs, we may never find the will to confront them.
